2008 Rules
ENTRY FEE PER BOAT - $200.00 per boat paid before May 15th, 2008. If paid after May 15th, 2008 entry fee will be $250.00 no execeptions.
Anglers participating in the PALM BEACH COUNTY FOOLS Fishing Tournament are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner and abide by the tournament rules and regulations as set forth below.
1. REGISTRATION: Early entries should be mailed to: PALM BEACH COUNTY FOOLS, 11985 Southern Blvd # 255 Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411. No entries, angler changes, or angler additions can be made after the close of registration on June 14th, 2008. Registration fee is non refundable for any cause.

2. TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS: Riviera Beach Marina, 180 East 13th Street, Riviera Beach, Florida 33404 Tel 561-722-3224
The Captain's Meeting, weigh-in and awards will take place at the Rivera Beach Marina, 180 East 13th Street, Rivera Beach, Florida 33404, (561) 842-7806
3. ELIGIBLE FISH: Dolphin, Kingfish and Wahoo.
4. CATEGORIES / MINIMUM FISH SIZES / WEIGHTS: Largest Fish in each category stated above, over 1 day of fishing. The minimum weight for Dolphin, Kingfish or Wahoo is fifteen (20) pound 1st place 2nd place is 15 pounds. Fish not meeting these minimum weights will not count. All fish must meet state requirements.
PLEASE NOTE: According to Florida State Law, recreational anglers may only possess two (2) King mackerel 24 inches or greater per day per angler.
5. ENTRY REFUSAL: THE PALM BEACH COUNTY FOOLS FISHING COMMITTEE reserves the right to refuse tournament application or entry from any prospective entrant with or without cause in its sole discretion. any applicant refused entry shall be entitled to a refund of entry fee.
6. HOOKING: Anglers must hook and fight their own fish.
8. BAIT: No restrictions. Live bait permitted.
9. TACKLE: All fish must be caught on rod and reel. Wire lines permitted. No Electric Reels
10. ANGLERS PER BOAT: A maximum of four (4) registered anglers per boat. Anglers may also serve as captain and/or mate.

12. FISHING BOUNDARIES: The fishing limits of this tournament are in territorial waters of the U.S.
13. COMMUNICATIONS: All eligible fish must be reported to FOOLS headquarters which will ope rate on VHF channel 68 (channel 72 will be the alternative if 68 is jammed). No boat lacking a marine radio will be able to fish in this tournament. You may not use a cell phone to relay your catch.
14. CAPTAINS MEETING: Thursday June 12th 2008 at 6:30 pm at Riviera Beach Marina. One member from each entry must be present, you will not be able to fish this tournament if not present. Office rules will be reviewed and any rule changes will be given at this meeting.
15. HOURS OF FISHING: Saturday June 14, 2008, 7:00 AM to 3:00PM. All lines out of water at 3:00 PM.
No fish hooked or boated after hours stated above will be eligible.
16. OFFICIAL WEIGH STATION: FOOLS scales at Rivera Beach Marina constitute the official weigh station.
Regular weigh in hours: Saturday June, 14, 2008 will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM if you wish to weigh in sooner contact our weigh master on channel 68.
17. START: This years check in will be by radio channel 68, you may use any inlet to fish this tournament. Start will be at 7:00 am. Just remember this tournament is for charity and we are relying on everyone to abide by the rules. Please do not leave the inlet before our offical start. ( Make sure we get your boat # when checking in. )
18. WEATHER CONDITIONS: In the event of unsafe conditions at sea, the weather committee, in its best judgment, may call of the tournament until better conditions prevail. Such notice of cancellation and resumption will be broadcast on channel 68. In the event of full cancellation, no refunds
19. PROTEST: Dicisions of the Toutrament Commttee are final and offical. Any protest concerning conduct of an angler or rule violation must be filed the day of the alleged violation by a registered angler. Protests must be submitted in writing and accompanied by $100.00 cash or certified check to tournament headquarters by 4:30 PM ( Not refundable if protest is not upheld). All decisions of the Rules Committee will be final.
20. OUTSTANDING JUNIOR ANGLER: A $250.00 Check will be given to the Outstanding Junior Angler (12 years or under, girl or boy) for the largest eligible fish. In order to be eligible, a junior angler must not be 12 years of age before the first day to the tournament. No minimum weight. Entered fish also eligible for tournament completion.
NOTE: Tournament rules are subject to change without notice. ANY CHANGES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE CAPTAIN'S MEETING, ON Thursday JUNE 9th, 2008.
